Our Commitment To Quality Childcare & Service Requirements & Qualifications of Applicants Each applicant must provide childcare or careprovider references that we can verify, e.g., prior nanny and/or caregiving jobs, day care center experience, church/synagogue nursery work, babysitting or teaching; many have raised their own children and have amazing life experience. We also request proof of a valid driver's license and car insurance, in addition we ask that they provide any licenses, diplomas, certifications and degrees. We complete extensive background checks on each applicant; full disclosure is provided. Each applicant is asked to make at least a one year commitment (many of our placements have had terms of 2 to 10 years); you will be advised if that person is unable to do so, and then provided with the option of hiring her or not. (For more details please also see Nanny Info on prior page) Where Our Nannies Come From Premier Nannies and Rent A Mom receives many referrals from other nannies and families, and since 1981 we have had hundreds of nannies who we have placed in the past returning to get placed again. Additional recruiting consists of Yellow Pages (book & Online), various online Internet Resources for recruiting qualified nannies, and our Website where we post all of our positions. Summer recruits are frequently teachers who have the summer off and applicants from colleges in nearby cities and states who are enrolled in early childhood education or elementary education programs. Interview and Acceptance Our interviewing and acceptance process is very detailed: 1) If the applicant is new to us, we ask for a Personal Statement which is a brief note in their own words detailing their professional childcare experiences, ages of children that they are most comfortable & experienced with, personal interests and hobbies, what type of position they are seeking, how long-term they are available, names and numbers or emails of references that we can contact, and the final question: why they feel they should be considered. 2) We then review the statement to determine if the applicant is truly committed to being a nanny, and contact them by telephone and /or email to forward an application package for their completion; and 3) once qualified, an invitation for a formal interview. Ultimately, we consider only a small percentage of the applicants who call on us. You meet only the best! We have several outstanding candidates for all types of positions and we're happy to send you a sampling of references on potential applicants (see our Nanny Preview page).
